The Lost Animal

The project is part of prototype and production design at Pratt Institute Spring semester'23

Wrapping up the background

Rumi is a lifestyle product brand that offers affordable prices. The Lost Animal product is located in front of the cashier. However, the toy package only displays graphics of character designs that do not match the product’s appearance. The project proposes a redesigned brand visual and package for Rumi’s toy named the Lost Animal.

My design goal

To enhance the toy's appeal, we aim to develop packaging that is both reusable and contributes to the toy's narrative. The toy's box is designed to double as a playing board that can be expanded upon opening. Furthermore, the modular shape of the board allows it to connect and expand with other boards. To facilitate repeated opening and closing of the box, we have replaced glue with tabs for forming the box.

Redesign with storytelling

My visual rebranding strategy was to make the logo more vibrant and fun, including showing more product stories. I designed to use the lowercase as it gives a more friendly scent with the curvy round shape of the fonts. In addition, I created the icon of a moving animal to represent how crazy the toy is running around.
